Maria Duval - If You Wish To Come Home And Be Deeply At Rest In The Immensity Of Your Heart by Elysha

If You Wish To Come Home And Be Deeply At Rest In The Immensity Of Your Heart by Elysha
Once you get a taste of this immensity of your self, the heart of existence, the divine one of all time, the one that is who "you" already are, the one that is flowing through your very eyes right now, you will naturally and indubitably want to simply stay right where "you" are and never leave or forget this one ever again - that would be natural. You will be so attracted to the being of what this "you" of you actually and truly is. Unfortunately for you though, you will keep on reverting back to that which has been so familiar to you for ever so long. You will keep on being distracted by and running with who you think you are - this is also quite natural for you to do. A wave of the heart enters your life movement of trying to be who you think you are and you are desirous of being the clarity of this heart; this same wave recedes and you are left with the isolated and separated movement of trying to be who you think you are - again and again. This is what you suffer. You do not realize that there is actually something that you can consciously do to instigate this heart of the "you" of you into action. That there is something that you can do from within this stuck and repetitive groove that you find yourself consistently and constantly reverting to - even though many teach that there is nothing to be done about any of it; those that teach this have simply failed to see the greater richness that this "you" of you truly and already is and the play of this "you" as it enters more fully into the mindbody that you find your self flowing through with its purity and fullness. For you to do something, from within this play of where you are being distracted by all of this notyou-ness, will require a strong desire of you to be free - to be home; to be your heart without obstruction; to be the self that this "you" of you is; to awaken to the divinity of this "you" that is you; to be the freedom that is already true of "you". Without a clear desire to be at home and in the heart of existence itself, you will only whistle around in the wind with being distracted by whatever arises and comes along; with whatever takes your fancy in the given moment - a bit like what is currently going on for you already; the waves rolling in and then receding again, each time leaving you wondering where all of this clarity disappeared to. If you wish to come home and be deeply at rest in the immensity of your heart - to be what is already true of this "you" of you - then a very different mode of attention is required to the one that you currently get up to. You will need to find this "you" that already is standing free of all else and come to rest in the "motion of seeing" that is flowing through your eyes. It is here that you are immediately relieved of who you think you are. It is here that you will find your self unattached and unshaken by all the comings and goings of existence; by the play of the dualities of arisings. This "you" of you is alert and lucid, silent and forceful, still and aware, without desire or fear. It is already freely standing from all manifestation and it is flowing through the eyes of this mindbody that you find your self flowing through. Finding this "you" and stopping at and as this one is the only movement that is going to free you from the current predicament that you are suffering.

Meditation Techniques
Meditation Techniques Meditation refers to a state where your body and mind are consciously relaxed and focused. Practitioners of this art report increased awareness, focus, and concentration, as well as a more positive outlook in life. Meditation is most commonly associated with monks, mystics and other spiritual disciplines. However, you don’t have to be a monk or mystic to enjoy its benefits. And you don’t even have to be in a special place to practice it. You could even try it in your own living room! Although there are many different approaches to meditation, the fundamental principles remain the same. The most important among these principles is that of removing obstructive, negative, and wandering thoughts and fantasies, and calming the mind with a deep sense of focus. This clears the mind of debris and prepares it for a higher quality of activity. The negative thoughts you have " those of noisy neighbors, bossy officemates, that parking ticket you got, and unwanted spam" are said to contribute to the ‘polluting’ of the mind, and shutting them out is allows for the ‘cleansing’ of the mind so that it may focus on deeper, more meaningful thoughts. Some practitioners even shut out all sensory input " no sights, no sounds, and nothing to touch " and try to detach themselves from the commotion around them. You may now focus on a deep, profound thought if this is your goal. It may seem deafening at first, since we are all too accustomed to constantly hearing and seeing things, but as you continue this exercise you will find yourself becoming more aware of everything around you. If you find the meditating positions you see on television threatening " those with impossibly arched backs, and painful-looking contortions " you need not worry. The principle here is to be in a comfortable position conducive to concentration. This may be while sitting cross-legged, standing, lying down, and even walking. If the position allows you to relax and focus, then that would be a good starting point. While sitting or standing, the back should be straight, but not tense or tight. In other positions, the only no-no is slouching and falling asleep. Loose, comfortable clothes help a lot in the process since tight fitting clothes have a tendency to choke you up and make you feel tense. The place you perform meditation should have a soothing atmosphere. It may be in your living room, or bedroom, or any place that you feel comfortable in. You might want an exercise mat if you plan to take on the more challenging positions (if you feel more focused doing so, and if the contortionist in you is screaming for release). You may want to have the place arranged so that it is soothing to your senses. Silence helps most people relax and meditate, so you may want a quiet, isolated area far from the ringing of the phone or the humming of the washing machine. Pleasing scents also help in that regard, so stocking up on aromatic candles isn’t such a bad idea either. The monks you see on television making those monotonous sounds are actually performing their mantra. This, in simple terms, is a short creed, a simple sound which, for these practitioners, holds a mystic value. You do not need to perform such; however, it would pay to note that focusing on repeated actions such as breathing, and humming help the practitioner enter a higher state of consciousness. The principle here is focus. You could also try focusing on a certain object or thought, or even, while keeping your eyes open, focus on a single sight. One sample routine would be to " while in a meditative state " silently name every part of you body and focusing your consciousness on that part. While doing this you should be aware of any tension on any part of your body. Mentally visualize releasing this tension. It works wonders. In all, meditation is a relatively risk-free practice and its benefits are well worth the effort (or non-effort " remember we’re relaxing). Studies have shown that meditation does bring about beneficial physiologic effects to the body. And there has been a growing consensus in the medical community to further study the effects of such. So in the near future, who knows, that mystical, esoteric thing we call meditation might become a science itself! Why Are You Not The Success You Want To Be?
Just sometime ago, my mentor asked me the exact same question, “Why are you not the success you want to be?” Well, you can imagine the look on my face. The question just caught me off guard while I was having lunch with him. “Well, I think it’s because I am not focus enough and not taking the correct actions?”, I answered in guilt. “No, no. From what I can see, you’re laser focused and is taking massive actions. So why are you still not obtaining the success you desire to have?” At that time I was confused. Totally confused. So what was my mentor driving at? After pondering over the question for some time, I slowly shook my head to signal to him my ignorance and embrace myself for a valuable lesson. During our lunch time, he went into a lengthy explanation that we are in fact the successes that we want to be. Just that, we often put our foresight too far in front of us that we fail to see what’s just in front of us. “Now is the accepted time, not tomorrow, not some more convenient season. It is today that our best work can be done and not some future day or future year. It is today that we fit ourselves for the greater usefulness of tomorrow. Today is the seed time, now are the hours of work, and tomorrow comes the harvest and the playtime.” ~~ W.E.B. Du Bois ~~ We’re in fact successes in accordance to our values. Like any other people, including successful entrepreneurs, we all have within us a value system. And within the value system, we have a hierarchy of values. What we place highest in our value system, we’ll work towards them and attain success in them. Think about it. What do you really value in life? Friendship? Career? Family? Richness? Health? Those are the things that we value strongly and it is through them that we get our inspiration, support and motivation to work towards them, obtaining successes in them. So when my mentor asked me the question, he was in fact trying to tell me that I am in fact already the success I want to be. It’s just that I have been neglecting them and taking them for granted. In additional, he actually asked me to list down all the successes I have achieved in my life till now. To be frank, that was not an easy task. It took me quite some time to come up with only 1-2 successes I think I have achieved so far. Noticing my struggle, my mentor slowly began to lead me in the correct direction to uncover my “buried” successes and after some time, I was able to come up with more than 20 achievements I have made in my life. I have never realized I am that successful in my life! “Life is a succession of moments. To live each one is to succeed.” ~~ Corita Kent ~~ Not many achievements you may say, however, like what my mentor mentioned, these are just a portion of the successes I have achieved. I have yet to uncover all of them. He personally believed that everyone must have made hundreds or even thousands of break-through achievements in their lives. They just have to uncover them like what I did. They need not be big to be considered a break-through achievement. It can be something small yet powerful to change your belief system. So why is there a need to uncover of our previous successes? How can it help us in our quest for our desire success? Well, the reason is pretty simple. It is through our previous successes that we build and achieved even greater achievements and successes. In addition, by recognizing our previous achievements, no matter how small they are, we actually start to recognize that we’re in fact making tremendous improvements in our lives. Slowly, bit by bit. We’ll also gradually learn to become grateful for the things that happen to us and not take things for granted. “As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” ~~ John F. Kennedy ~~ Do you know of anyone who achieves something but loses another? For example, do you know of any successful entrepreneur who sacrifices their relationships in return for success in their business. That actually happens because they fail to give gratitude for their previous success in relationships. They fail to realize that all those previous successes require hard work to build and achieve. Furthermore, those successes also require additional effort to maintain. Are you currently maintaining your present successes? Or are you neglecting them for other successes? During my lunch with my mentor, I come to realize that we all have successes in our live and we’re in fact already living that successes we always wanted in accordance to the hierarchy of values. Also, it takes tremendous amount of time, energy and effort to achieve those successes. Therefore it truly doesn’t make any sense to give up those successes for another success. Success in one area does not make up for failures in other areas. Learn to truly appreciate the successes in you’ve achieved so far and make use of the knowledge you gained to help you further your quest to achieve other successes in other areas of your life. Start by recognizing, be grateful and be happy about all those previous successes you have achieved in your life till now. Are you prepared to list down your life achievements till now? “The hardest arithmetic to master is that which enables us to count our blessings.” ~~ Eric Hoffer ~~

Attitude Is A Really Big Thing
Regardless of your age, your place in life, your occupation, or the ways you choose to spend time, I can guarentee that your attitude is one of the most significant things that determines your happiness and contentment in life.

Attitude is so powerful because it is one of the few things that every single person has the ability to be in control of regardless of any other factors in life. When life is going well and we have no complaints we can choose what kind of attitude to face each day with. Fortunately, when our lives seem like they couldn't get any worse we can also choose what kind of attitude we will have each day.

Can you think about a time in your life when your attitude made all the difference? Or, maybe think of an example from the life of someone you know. Can you think of a situation when all things looked grim and yet you or someone else's attitude made that situation better just by being positive?

You may be wondering why it is important to keep a good attitude regardless of other factors in your life. Good question. One thing I've learned about life is that it will not always go my way. It is highly unlikely that every single day for the rest of my life will be filled with joy, friendships, and peace. It is possible, but unlikely. It is much more likely that life will throw me things I wasn't expecting. Tragedies, sicknesses, and relationship trials will come my way and it will be my attitude that determines how those events affect me.

Keeping a good attitude in life allows us to remember that even in tough times we have much to be thankful for. Choose to let your attitude reflect this perspective rather than reflecting the fact that you are not getting exactly what you want at a moment in time. Let your attitude reflect all of the ways that your life has been blessed and all of the good things that have happened to you.

We have all heard it said that "attitude is a little thing that can make a big difference." I agree with whoever said those words wholeheartedly, but I'll even take it a step further and simply say that attitude is a big thing. Attitude is perhaps one of the biggest factors that determines the path and results we see in life. When we can look at the worst situations with hope and a right perspective, nothing will be too difficult to bear.

Denton Krypps has learned the importance of keeping a good attitude as he has raised several children. Learn more about attitude at www.attitudehelp.info
