Maria Duval - Dream Interpretation: Numbers in Dreams

Dream Interpretation: Numbers in Dreams
The symbolism of numbers is, of course, very ancient and has been codified in many ages and cultures. In general, dream numbers convey ideas, sensations and lines of force in the personality. Here is a brief synthesis of the hidden meaning of numbers as they appear in our dreams. ZERO - Zero denotes timelessness, super-conscious, eternity, and absolute freedom. It also symbolizes God. ONE - One stands for individuality, individuality solitude, the ego, leadership, originality, beginnings, and a winner. It also stands for a higher spiritual force. TWO - Two stands for balance, diversity, partnership, soul, or receptivity. It can also symbolize double weakness or double strength. There is a duality as in male and female, mother and father, yin and yang, etc. THREE - Three signifies life, vitality, inner strength, completion, imagination, creativity, energy, and self-exploration. Three stands for trilogy as in the past, present, and future or father, mother, and child, etc. FOUR - Four denotes stability, physical limitations, hard labor and earthly things, as in the four corners of the earth. It also stands for materialistic matters. You get things done. FIVE - Five represents your persuasiveness, spontaneity, daring/bold nature, action or the five human senses. This number may reflect a change in course. It is also the link between heaven and earth. SIX - Six is indicative of cooperation, balance, tranquility, perfection, warmth, union, marriage, family, and love. Your mental, emotional, and spiritual states are in harmony. It is also indicative of domestic bliss. SEVEN - Seven signifies mental perfection, healing, completion, music and attainment of high spirituality. Additionally, you are unique and eccentric. EIGHT - Eight stands for power of authority, success, karma, material gains, regeneration, and wealth. When the number eight appears in your dream, trust your instincts and intuition. NINE - Nine denotes completion and that you are on a productive path. Rebirth, inspiration and reformation. You are seeking to improve the world. TEN - Ten corresponds to closure, great strength, and gains. ELEVEN - Eleven stands for intuition, mastery in a particular domain, spirituality, enlightenment, and capacity to achieve. It is symbolic of your creativity and visions. TWELVE - Twelve denotes spiritual strength and divine perfection. THIRTEEN - Thirteen is a paradoxical number which means death and birth, end and beginning, and change and transition. It is symbolic of obstacles that are standing on your way and must overcome. You must work hard and persevere in order to succeed and reach your goals.

Meditation: Meditating for Instant Calming
Stress can strike you at any time. It can hit you hard and the way you deal with a situation can be made a million times worse simply because of the stress build up. One of the cool aspects of meditation is your ability to use meditation to gain an instant calming affect even when you are not in the traditional meditation posture. The first step in the meditation for Instant Calming is to practice your breathing. When you feel that stress is creeping up on you simply practice breathing lightly like a mouse in and out. Focus on the quality of your breathing; ensure that it is light and even. Then slowly make the breathing deeper. Next in this process is to ensure that your posture is balanced and even. Keep your back straight and your head up. Many people who become stressed will slouch their back and have a hunched look. Clear your mind. Imagine in you mind that you are bathing in a wave of relaxing waves. Consciously feel the waves flowing past taking away the anxiety and stress. Ensure that the waves constantly flow through your body. The next important step is to acknowledge the stress and look at the root cause of the stress. The worst thing you can do with meditation is to deny the stress. In your mind during the meditation speak the words clearly in your mind, "This stress is real but I have the ability to hand it. Let me think straight and find a way to deal with this stress and to cope immediately with the challenges in front of me." Continue repeating this statement in your meditations for a period not less than ten minutes. It is now time in this meditation to take control of this stress. Focus on the person who has caused this stress and robbed you of the control you have the right too. Take control of your mind and rid your mind of the stress. Finally as you come out of this meditation focus on these words, "I have a right to a free and peaceful mind. Nothing anyone can do or say to me will rob me of this right." Speak these words each time you need this meditation.

Does Wicca Witchcraft Really "Work"?
Many people wonder exactly how your thoughts and emotions focused to bring love into your life (for example), can actually make real love happen. This interaction between energies is where your belief of a higher power comes in to play.

There are mysterious forces at work when you put your focused thoughts and emotions to work. Whatever your specific beliefs are " there are things in this world that defy our logic and understanding. If you are like me, you have a sense that there is “something looking down on me” " sometimes even shielding you from harm.

No matter what your specific Magick path becomes, you will soon begin to realize that this same “higher power” has some control over the interaction of your Magick energy with events in your life, and the world.

The Core You Can’t Ignore In Your Witchcraft Path

There are many things involved in being a Witch, no matter what specific path you follow. Some of them change based on your path (which I go over in detail in my Home Academy), but there is one “core” thing you must follow.

This “core” is where you draw all of your power " all of your Magick energy. And neglecting it will grind your Magick spell work to a screeching halt. Nothing will work without this core connection.

This core I keep talking about is your connection to nature " above all. I’m not saying you need to move out to the forest and build a makeshift hut out of pine branches. But you need to devote yourself to nature, and try to expose yourself to her every day.

It can be as simple as finding a special tree in your backyard, and spending time next to it a few times a week (like I show you in the nature daily devotional later in this book).

You have to understand that you come from nature " and so does the energy you control. Connecting yourself to nature on a weekly basis will increase your bond with nature, and allow you to more easily tap into it’s hidden energy.

Think of nature as your protector, and your giver of special powers. You wouldn’t ignore someone special, like your best friend " would you? In the same way, to ignore nature " your protector, your giver of special powers " would be to completely “give up” your Magick powers.

Magick Tidbit #1: Please, for the sake of this beautiful world we live in, take it upon yourself to help protect nature. Support all efforts to preserve nature around the world, and do your part to keep our world beautiful.

So keep an eye out for the nature daily devotional later to find out how to strengthen your connection with nature to have better success with your Magick work and spells.

Lastly, throughout the reading of this book " and your Magick workings beyond " always keep in mind your connection with nature. If you pay attention, and nurture your connection, nature will allow you to bring your dreams into your life. It will allow you to create your miracles, just remember that.

The Ender Saga: A Noteworthy Science Fiction series
January 1985 marks the beginning of America’s love affair with Ender Wiggin. It was that month that Ender’s Game was published, becoming an instant blockbuster, and “probably the most popular science fiction novel published in the last twenty years” (John Kessel). The child prodigy and ultimate savior of the earth, Ender Wiggin, had appeared seven years earlier in a short story published in the science fiction magazine Analog. Writer Orson Scott Card had spent much of his young life working in print, but had only set to writing science fiction when his meager salary as copy editor at a small press failed to pay a debt incurred from a failed business attempt. His magazine article won instant attention, and Orson Scott Card won the 1978 John C. Campbell Award for best new writer at the World Science Fiction Convention. But little Ender was destined for bigger things.

Orson Scott Card saw potential in his young protagonist and instantly set to work developing the short fiction into a longer work. Already he had two novels in mind, Ender’s Game and its sequel Speaker for the Dead, published the following year in 1986. Card made history by winning both the prestigious Nebula and Hugo Awards in both consecutive years. No other author has managed this feat to date (2006.) Since that time, Ender’s Game has been translated into sixteen languages, and spawned two series.

The first series includes Ender’s Game (1985), Speaker for the Dead (1986), Xenocide (1991), Children of the Mind (1996), and First Meetings (2002). The saga follows Ender as he grows into adulthood and deals with the moral and ethical issues presented in his childhood.

The second series starts with a parallel telling of the original Ender’s Game, but from the eyes of Bean. Titled Ender’s Shadow (1999), it is the first of the Shadow Series, followed by Shadow of the Hegemon (2001), Shadow Puppets (2002), and Shadow of the Giant (2005).

Ender’s Game has been called “the science fiction novel for people who don’t think they like science fiction.” Truly it appeals to a vast audience. It is on the list of top books for college-bound students, and has been adopted as required reading in numerous secondary schools and university classes. Card explains that the focus on the human story as it unravels, rather than the science fiction elements, is what gives the novel power among its readers. Essentially, Card says, readers must relate and care deeply about the characters. Beyond that, he admits that the use of computer networks and the “mind game” are features in the book that appeal to many readers.

Ender claimed the spotlight again in the late 1990s when rumor caught wind that a film was slated. Indeed, Warner Brothers announced in 2002 its plans to produce the film. Director Wolfgang Peterson, known for his most recent films Poseidon, Troy and The Perfect Storm, is joined by screenwriter David Benieff (Troy). The movie is expected to hit the theaters in 2008. After winning the top prizes offered in science fiction literature, one wonders what is still in store for Ender Wiggen.

Beginner's Meditation - How Deep Can You Go?

When I teach Meditation classes, new students often ask: “What can meditation do for me?” To answer that question as genuinely as possible I draw upon my own twenty-something years of meditating experience. One of the core meditation benefits I enjoy is a continual feeling of inner peace. This is a true blessing compared to how things were many years ago. Enslaved by my own mind I was constantly pulled this way and that. My inner voice chattered ceaselessly: “Let’s go here. Let’s go there. Let’s do this. Let’s do something else.” My mind seemed to operate from somewhere on the surface of ego consciousness: a place of conflicts, dissatisfaction, restlessness and fantasy.

Now those aberrations have dissolved, leaving behind pools of perfect peace. And within these oases of peace there is a clarity of mind; a greater understanding of myself, of humanity and of the world in which I live. This in turn contributes to a general state of happiness and, sometimes, periods of pure joy.

But I am not unique. Anyone who practices meditation regularly can tell you that they too experience the core benefits of meditation - namely:

  • Inner peace
  • Clearer thinking
  • Greater understanding
  • Constant happiness
  • Being in joy

For those who wish to (re-)establish these natural ways of being, the easiest meditation technique to begin with is “witnessing.” A “witnessing” meditation is a means of being in the present moment; it is a way of giving your fullest attention to what is going on in your body and mind “now.”

Meditation For Beginners

  1. Sit upright, spine straight, feet flat on the floor. Keeping your spine erect let your shoulders relax downwards. Place your hands openly on your lap, passive hand resting in the active. Focus on letting your body relax. Try to be aware of your entire body from head to foot.
  2. While maintaining a steady awareness of your body, bring your attention to your breathing as you inhale. Focus on your breath as it enters your nostrils. Follow the course of your breath as it passes down your throat and into your lungs.
  3. Watch the passage of your breath as the inhalation reaches its maximum, pauses, and then becomes an exhalation. Continue watching the outflow of breath to the point where it pauses briefly before becoming an inhalation once again.
  4. As you breathe in and out, pay attention to the expansion and contraction of your rib cage, and the rise and fall of your stomach. Notice how your breathing becomes longer and smoother. Watch your breathing cycles and each time you breathe out imagine all the muscles in your body relaxing more and more.
  5. Now bring your attention to your mind. Observe the thoughts passing through your mind. After a time you will notice how your thoughts slow down and become easier to watch.
  6. In time and with practice you will reach the stage where thoughts cease to enter your mind. It is then that your mind becomes like a cloudless sky.
  7. Once you arrive at this state of what Buddhists call “no mind” you will quickly become familiar with “The Witness” " that eternal part of us that exists beyond everyday mind.

Use Meditation to Overcome Short Term Memory Loss
Use Meditation to Overcome Short Term Memory Loss Meditation is a wonderful method of helping the entire body to relax. Through a system of breathing exercises the body naturally feels the stress being released and for many people it allows them to be much more open and receptive. Meditation can also aid in helping to overcome short term memory loss. When a person feels relaxed the memory seems to function much better. Through the use of breathing and concentration the memory feels alive and vibrant once again. Remember the last time you forgot someone's name or their birthday? It was probably during a period where you had a great deal on your mind or you were feeling stress. Upon realizing your forgetfulness this generally stirs up even more anxiety which again leads to more memory problems. It's a cycle that some people find themselves constantly in. By employing some of the techniques of meditation that people have been using for years, you can help open up your mind and memory thus allowing it to function better. It's wonderful to imagine having the ability to recall names, numbers and important dates without having to look for pieces of paper or check a calendar. Instead it would all be there within your memory. Meditation does not need to be a complicated process. There are simple exercises that anyone can do for a few moments each day that will help boost the memory. The key to using meditation as a memory booster is that it will help build concentration which works hand in hand with improving your short term memory. Finding a quiet spot is very helpful when you want to meditate. Some people also feel that having essential oils or candles burning adds to the necessary ambiance. If that does help you relax than it's going to beneficial to the entire process including helping you to reenergize your mind. There are also certain scents of oils and candles that are said to be beneficial for memory functions. Meditation can be taught in a class and there are usually classes offered at natural health care facilities and often even at regular gyms. Some of the classes are geared towards helping the memory to function. For a person who feels as though their mind isn't as sharp as it once was, taking one of these classes will benefit them for years to come. Building up a regular routine of meditation to aid in improving short term memory loss will also build self-esteem. Feeling as though you are on top of your game mentally is a wonderful self-image booster. For someone who feels less comfortable within a class of people learning meditation, there are many books and manuals that offer substantial information on mediation as a method of empowering the memory. Some offer illustrations of body position and along with descriptions for the breathing exercises. Following the methods outlined daily will open the person up to the benefits of meditation. By using the techniques described they will not only be relaxing their bodies but fueling their memory as well. Having a relaxed and clear mind is one of the most important aspects to overcoming short term memory loss.

How To Use A Crystal Ball
Step 1. Preparation Most people find crystal ball gazing is easiest in a quiet, dimly lit room. Many people like to have candles burning. For some the reflections of the flames help to summon images - others find them a distraction. Burning incence is common and some people like to have soothing music playing gently in the background. The important thing to remember is that you are creating an atmosphere. The important key when doing crystal ball gazing is that you must be relaxed and your mind must be clear. It is always best to perform a cleansing ritual followed by a protection ritual, and THEN begin your crystal ball work. Normally a cleansing ritual would be performed on night one. The next night you would perform a protection ritual on yourself and within the room you intend on performing the crystal ball gazing. On the third night you can then be well prepared to use your crystal ball. Even though these rituals are not necessity, it is always wise to do them for maximum safety and best results. When performing any form of scrying or divination you are summoning forth forces from the spirit realm. Normally these forces are closed off from this plane we live in unless otherwise disturbed such as through specific rituals such as crystal ball gazing and scrying. When you perform divination these forces can either aid you in bringing forth images of the future or other events, or attack you. Evil spirits and negative influences can use your crystal ball, scrying mirror, ouija board, or pendulum a link for them to step through into this world. They can also use it as a means to drain energy from you as well. This is why it is always best to ensure proper cleansing and protection is prepared before hand. Step 2. The Crystal Ball Gazing Method Place the crystal ball on a table in front of you. Many crystal balls you can buy come with their own stand. If you don't have a crystal ball stand you might like to use a small cushion or a silk handkerchief purchased and reserved specially for this purpose. *Tip* To amplify your crystal ball gazing, you can use a gemstone sphere as a compliment to the crystal ball. Simply having a gemstone sphere resting next the crystal ball can augment your diving two fold. Sit down and relax. Lay your hands gently on the ball for a minute or two in order to energise it and strengthen your psychic rapport. Whilst holding the crystal ball, think about the purpose of this scrying session. If appropriate try to visualise the subject of your question. Some people like to ask the question out loud, others prefer to internalise it. Now, remove your hands from the crystal. Look into the crystal, stare deeply. Allow your eyes to relax and become slightly unfocused. After a little while you should see a mist or smoke forming in the crystal. Let this mist grow and fill the ball, then visualise it gradually clearing to reveal images within the crystal. The images you see might not be what you expected. That's OK, don't fight them. Your subconscious mind knows what information you need. Many people find that when they first begin to use a crystal ball, the images have nothing to do with what they focus on. This is because your mind is not yet adjusted at being able to grasp and focus on the energies being past from your subconscious into the crystal ball itself. Think of the mental energies going from your mind to the crystal ball as a funnel. The base or "tip" of the funnel is your subconscious energies and that energy is being directed upwards towards your conscious mind which is the mid point of the funnel. The conscious part of the mind that receives the subconscious energy then "spills" it into the crystal ball to form those images from the subconscious, which would be the mouth of the funnel. Since divination uses both the subsconscious and conscious part of the mind at the same time it can be rather difficult to concentrate on both at once. Your subconscious is where the energy is stemming from. It passes it upwards to your conscious which is needed to act on that energy into the crystal ball. Without the conscious mind you would be in more of a deep meditated state and your eyes would not be able to consciously focus or input the images within the crystal ball. As noted, it is perfectly ok that the first couple times you divine with a crystal ball the images are not related to what it is you want. The fact you are able to see ANYTHING in the crystal ball is showing progress. The more you work with the crystal ball, the better you will get at being able to see exactly what it is you want to see by manipulating your subconscious energies to your conscious energies, and then to the crystal ball. Either way, just let the images flow, changing and taking you wherever they choose to go. Don't try to rationalise now, time for that later. Step 3. Closing The Crystal Ball Session Let the images slowly fade back into the crystal ball. Don't just stop the session suddenly, instead reverse the process you used at the beginning. Visualise the mists coming back and covering the images, then receding to return the ball to its natural state. Thank your crystal ball and put it away carefully wrapped within a dark cloth is best as dark cloth keeps the energies of the ball contained within it and prevents it from leaking out. It is also always best to ensure you cleanse your crystal ball. A good, fast, and simple way of doing this is to simply light a sage smudge stick and or sage incense and move the ball around the smoke before you place it back for storage. Another quick and easy way to cleanse your crystal ball would be to give it a dip in salt water for roughly one minute. You do not want to soak it too long in salt as it can damage and ruin the crystal ball. What Do You Want?
What do you want? What do you want from life? Do you know that you can create whatever you want? If there is any part of you that doubts that, the first step is to clear that limiting belief out of your mind. It doesn't serve you anymore. The more open you are to receive, the more you will receive. Over the past few years we have seen this principle work for thousands of students. From lack to prosperity, from struggle to ease, from tension to peace, from ignorance to enlightenment, it's all up to you. It's a choice.

What you think you create and you create what you think. What do you focus your attention on? Are you clear as to what you really want? Are you focused on what you want to create, and are you excited about it? Or, are you focusing on what you don't have, what you don't want, or something that happened to you in the past? Your intentions are broadcasted into the world like a radio transmission and what you "put out" through your thoughts, words and actions you attract. Like a magnet you are drawing into your life whatever you need to learn and grow and evolve to realize your full potential.

The clearer you are as to what you want to manifest, the easier it is to manifest it. If you are not clear, the power is weak. If you do not have energy behind your intention your power to manifest is weak. If you are focusing on what you don't have or want, you create experiences that will teach you what you need to let go of in order to manifest what you want. To develop the power to manifest you need to be clear as to what you want, develop the inner strength to transmit your intention and develop the focus to move through any limiting beliefs and fears that have been keeping you from all the prosperity, happiness and peace you deserve.

The biggest hurdle for most people is moving from "yes, I know this already" to actually living it. They deny themselves the opportunities to manifest by staying stuck in some negative mental state and not taking the steps to create what they want. Are you living with all the prosperity, happiness and peace that you want? Are you enlightened, fulfilled, feeling bliss in this moment? If not, why not? What are you telling yourself right now? What is your mind doing with this message? In this moment an opportunity is presented to take the next step. All the resources you need are right here on this page. Come join our field of prosperity, happiness and peace. It begins by asking yourself this question: What do you want?

The Secret to Change
Most of us are slaves to habit and familiarity. Our present environment is a symbol of our present thoughts. My family is me, my job is me, my friends are me. It has been observed a wounded animal will return to what is familiar. Because man is also an animal he likes familiarity and in time of trouble will also return to what is familiar. This bit of knowledge is how criminals are tracked down. For instance a white collar criminal who has expensive tastes in cars and fancy restaurants will not be difficult for the authorities to locate. He will be driving his favourite type of car to his favourite restaurant. A wounded pet will make their way back home. There is a compelling force driving us to old surroundings because these surroundings remind us of how we were or are supposed to be-they are comforting and reassuring. It is no wonder old habits die hard. How do we break away from habit? What is the secret to changing a lifetime of habit? There is very little growth in an adult. Researchers claim we stop using are brains around the age of thirty. We rely on what we have learned in the first thirty years to carry us over the next thirty. While I was studying NLP therapy, my instructor told me with counseling most people will only change about six percent. That wasn't high enough for me-I wanted to change the world. Scientists are not saying people who retire should go back to college to reactivate their minds. This has to be upsetting to those who have done the same things for sixty years. How does one go about changing years of habit? Many people who have had near death experiences or have had severe trauma in their lives come away with instant change. Their lives are never the same and it is most noticeable by those most familiar with them. Meaningful change does not have to come by hitting yourself over the head with a hammer-nor do you have to sign up for courses or college. Change can come fairly easily, in simple steps, which are subtle and for the most part unnoticeable. Before change can come there needs to be a desire for change. A commitment to do something about it, and from there on it is simply a matter of developing a new habit-a habit of change. A complete lifestyle makeover can be accomplished over a period of time without the trauma from hitting yourself over the head with a hammer or leaving your present circumstances. Habits are physical demonstrations of a mind that is boxed. Habit simply means you are doing the same thing over and over again-there is no growth in repeating steps. The very meaning of life is-movement! Lasting change does not come with making a change, but a with commitment to keep changing until it becomes a habit-a habit of change. One of the best times to start your change is first thing in the morning. Commit yourself to making at least one tiny change everyday and it doesn't have to be the same change. Try turning your alarm ahead or back 10 minutes. In other words get up at a different time tomorrow morning. Probably, no one will even notice. Instead of going straight to the bathroom try walking through the kitchen first on the way. If brushing your teeth is one of your first rituals-change it. Or change the brand of tooth paste you are using. Try leaving your house 15 minutes early for work one morning or take a different route-your will see new people and different things. When you go to the mall or shopping downtown-part away from the store you want to go into and try walking for a block or two-you will discover new things and maybe even meet someone new, or be reacquainted with someone you already know. The point I am trying to make here is to make small subtle changes which will not upset your life or those around you. Make this your priority every day-to do something different. What you are going to start noticing is how things start changing around you and how people will start to treat you differently. They will evolve at the same rate as you do. They will notice a change in you and want to know what it is. They will start paying more attention to you and may want to get closer. When I get up each morning I make my way to the bathroom without turning on lights. In fact I keep the lighting in my place subdued most of the time. I like candles and indirect lighting and nothing too bright. This morning I got up a little earlier went to the washroom with my eyes closed-came back to my computer and started writing this article. Halfway through the article I thought about my morning tea and what I have been writing about. I decided to turn on all the lights in the kitchen/living room. Two things stood out for me-there were a few dirty dishes in the sink and my living room was very colourful. The colour was coming from things that were in the room. I decided to wash the dishes and afterwards I made breakfast for myself instead of meeting my co-workers at the restaurant. I also went to work an hour later than I normally do and managed to complete this article and there are no dishes in the sink. I normally do not recommend making these many changes in such a short period. However, I have been practicing for some time so when I make a change it usually leads to several changes and it last the rest of the day. From time to time I find myself goofing off and returning to old habits, but I do not chastise myself. I simple notice the change and make corrections-after all, it's the trip that counts-not getting there. Also, if I am noticing old habits, it simply means I am aware and that is exactly what I want-awareness. With the awareness of change comes opportunity for change. As you cultivate your habit of change, you will begin to make bigger changes and you will start ranging out. You growth will start to accelerate and you may find yourself in conflict with those around you and who know you the best. Remember this-people will not want you to change-they will try to hold you back. It is very important during this process for you to find new friends and people who will support you. There are others who cherish growth and nurture it in others. For the most part your family and friends will not support you. They have expectations of who you are and how you should be-and many people do not want to be left behind. If you are growing and they are not, they will not be able to relate to you the same way-you will remind them that they are not growing. They won't want to be stuck at the station watching you get on the bus and leaving. Plan ahead for your transformation-dedicate yourself to changing your circumstances. Be thoughtful of yourself and the feelings of others-most importantly trust your instincts and don't back down. Don't make any big steps until you are ready-firmly establish your routine of change. At some point you may find a niche that feels right and you may not want to go any further-that is OK. Start over with little changes keep up the habit no matter how settled you are. Small changes don't have to lead to major upheavals. Sometimes they are just the spices which make the rest more interesting and satisfying. The secrets to changing are small secrets which you discover everyday. You find them by looking for them in everything you do-everyday!
