Get On With It! Step 1 to Making Decisions
It is very simple. Time spent not making the important decision is time wasted. You have to make good decisions. Have you ever been driving down the road behind someone who is indecisive? It is terrible; they wander up and down the road. They pull off to the side. They slow down. You know where you want to go; you want to go past them, and you want to get there. Let’s not waste our time not making decisions when we are out there in the executive world. What are some of the steps we can take in making great decisions? Roice, Mark, and I have all spent years and years teaching some of the most effective and successful executives on the planet how to make quality decisions. From our conversations together, we have it boiled down to eight steps"eight things you need to know and you need to do to make great decisions. 1. Put Yourself in a Great State What does it mean to be in a great state? We’re not talking about the state of Illinois or the great state of Mississippi. What state are we talking about? You need to be filled with confidence. You need to be awake and alert and have high energy. You don’t want to be making a serious decision that is going to affect the quality of your business while you are tired, depressed, or have a bad focus. For me, the best time is in the morning. After I wake up from a good sleep during which I have rested my mind and body, I have a little breakfast, and then I write down two or three things I need to make decisions on. I attack them right then because I know I have my best mental energy to do it. The best leaders all make their decisions early in the morning. That’s why I have always wanted to start a restaurant that started at 5 a.m. and was done by 1 p.m., and just serve breakfast for decision makers. This is a great idea. You, too, need to find the times of the day, the places, the way that you move your body, the foods that you eat, the people you want around you, that put you in the best state that you can possibly be in for making the key decisions in your life. W. Clement Stone used to say, “When you wake up in the morning you are supposed to say, ‘I’m healthy, I’m happy, I’m awake, I feel terrific!’” That is a great time to make a decision. Now Tony Robbins does it differently. He has a thing he calls the “Whoa clap.” This is a great state to be in. You want to stand up, get your chest up, breathe deep, stand tall, and be energized. That is the state you want to be in to make a decision. It is purposeful; you can cause this state. It’s not something that just happens. I cause this state in my seminars for mega-book marketing and mega-speaking. When I’m doing my seminars, I frequently have singer Lynn Rose perform. Lynn opens for everybody from Jay Leno to Sheryl Crow. At my seminars this amazing woman takes an audience from an energy level of 2 or a 3 and brings them up to a 10, with her high-volume, highly energized singing and speaking talent. So when she finishes and the audience is at a 10, that’s when I begin speaking. Everyone has the state, I’ve got the state, and we feed the energy back and forth. Then we keep going higher all weekend long. You can do this too with different variations. You can get into music, for example, that will put you into a deep contemplative state where you are completely aware, completely jazzed about life. Pachelbel’s “Canon in D” is one piece of music that does this to me.

Bring Your Gorgeous Self out from Within...
To this day, there are lots of talks on TV, radio, etc. about how to improve yourself, build your self esteem or tap into the power within you. Some motivational trainers are capitalizing on that, making a killing with their self help tapes and lectures charging thousand of dollars for anything from losing weight to becoming more assertive or becoming financially independent. The truth is, only you can change yourself. Only you can make it happen. I have seen a real live example of this as a teenager in high school and I am a firm believer that anyone can transform themself if they really want to. Now we have to go back in the days of the weekly series of Charlie's angels, six million dollar man and get smart etc. Of course all the boys wanted to be like Steve Austin (Lee Majors) and all the girls wanted to look like Jamie Summers (Lindsay Wagner) or Loni Anderson. At one point, during the school season, appears that gorgeous girl apparently from nowhere...needless to say that all the girls were instantly jealous of her because you see, she brought more competition in the school and all the guys wanted to know more about her. A bit later in the year, she started dating that guy, who happened to be not only the hottest hunk in school but had good grades and also was a team leader. Mind you, the guy wasn't really one of my friends due to the fact that he was about 2 years older and was two years ahead of me academically. I have to admit that our team leader, hunk and also the boyfriend of the most gorgeous girl in school was also a nice guy, contrary to the belief that we have from movies that most of the jocks are jerks. He would occasionally greet us with a nod in the school hallway. Now the question was, who is that girl? Where does she come from? I remember thinking with my friend John at the time. John didn't know then but it wouldn't take him too long to find out. After a bit of digging around, John came back one day and told me! Remember Kathy, she was here last year and the year before but she was just an average looking girl and no one paid much attention to her. Kathy had come to the realization that she was just average and decided that it was about time that she did something about it. Time to leave average behind and let her natural beauty come out from within. No one can tell for sure what Kathy did to her hair, clothes, body, etc, but anyone knew right away when she walked into a room. All of a sudden, she had grace, beauty, self assurance and charisma. She was by now sporting the superb looks of a model with makeup that would emphasize her strong points and clothes that would make anyone turn around to look at her a second time. In short she was the envy of everyone in school. Now when I hear about improving yourself, I immediatly think about how Kathy went from an average looking girl to the girl that demanded attention from everybody around her whenever she strutted about with a new found self from within.

7 Key Goal Setting Steps
What are the goal setting steps outlined here going to do for you? "If you do not have a plan for your life, someone else has a plan for you."-- Jim Rohn You want to have plan of action for your life. One of the most effective ways to do that is to activate the goal setting gene in your body. The plan of action will get your momentum started if you follow these goal setting steps. It may sound simple. However, in order to achieve your desired result, you need a roadmap and do a little every day to accomplish your goal. 1. Clearly define your goal. Think of goal setting step as marking a map to your destination. If you don't start by deciding where you are going, then you are what Zig Zigglar calls "a wandering generality". The act of making a precise decision solidifies your resolve. 2. Decide what you are willing to do or give to achieve your goal. Not what you wish you could do, but what you intend to do. It may be time, money or giving up immediate pleasure for long term rewards. When you look at the goal, decide how valuable it is to you and what you're willing to sacrifice for it. 3. Where are you in relation to your goal? Again, if you use a map to get to your destination, you have to know where you're starting point is. Be very honest with yourself. Sometimes looking yourself in the mirror and admitting to what really needs to change may be the toughest thing you ever do. 4. What's been stopping you? Become clear of your barriers and make peace with them. Either you go into it full force, or you change your expectations. The learning process to success may be one of the reasons that this goal is not what you really want. There will be lessons, sometimes tough ones. Reevaluate the goal if this is the case. If you want more money for your family and believe that the price you must pay is giving up time for them, reconsider your belief. 5. What steps do you need to take to get to the goal? Here's the map. You know where you are, you know where you're going and now you must map the route there. Remember, there's a lot of different ways to get to from point A to point B. Some just take longer than others. Choose the path that fits you. If you want to fly to Chicago there's a higher price but it's quicker than walking. If you walk to Chicago it's tougher and slower but you see more interesting sights along the road. 6. Break down the goal into small palatable steps you can accomplish daily. This is called "chunking". Create something you do each day to accomplish the goal. These small goal-setting steps add up and one day, you'll look back and see how much you've accomplished with a little forward movement every day. 7. Have a system to track your accomplishments. You can keep it as simple as you want or as complicated as they get. Don't get hung up on the details. Whatever you do, ask yourself, "how is this moving me closer to my goal"? One very simple way is to track your goal with a physical list. Some people think that they'll simply keep it in their head, but unless you keep the list in front of your face, you replace it with other daily tasks. Almost magically, the more you focus on something the more you achieve it. This works both positively and negatively. If you focus on failure, sure enough that goal comes true also. Put your goal list up in several rooms and make a check mark on it when you accomplish a step. Make it the first thing you see in the morning and the last thing you see at night. Each journey begins with the first step. Turn your dream into a goal and ultimately, a reality. Use these goal-setting steps to help you defining exactly what you want!

If You Believe In God You Do No Belong In Prison
________________________This essay is written to the young man sitting at home holding a gun in his hand contemplating an act of violence. If you believe in God you should put the gun down and reconsider your position. You should walk into the bathroom, look in the mirror, and ask yourself these four questions: Do I belong in prison? Do I want to spend the rest of my life in prison? Does my mother want me to spend the rest of my life in prison? Is there anything else I can be doing besides holding this gun in my hands? If you answer yourself with an affirming statement, then you should leave the gun where it lay and come join the rest of society and face the day. If you do not answer yourself in the affirmative, then you have made the decision that there is no God and what you desire should control your conduct or conversely you have made the decision that there is a God but at the present time you choose not to follow Him or there is a God but you prefer to support the Devil in his mission. In either case the decision you need to make is a simple one. You need to reconsider your position and answer your self in the affirmative and follow God.
We make this statement because a Christian does not belong in prison. If a Christian lands in prison, either the jury made a mistake or the Christian forgot who he or she was and committed an act against God and man. If you believe in God, then you do not belong in prison you belong outside in society working toward a better world. Anyone can go to prison. It does not take a rocket scientist to be a prisoner. All it takes is a moment of indecision or a moment of impulsiveness and off you go into an arena where you may not survive. When you do not follow God, your conduct is saying there is no hope. When you do not follow God, you conduct is saying nothing is going to change. When you do not follow God, your conduct is saying I do not believe in God's promises. Before you make a decision to use that gun maybe you need to take some instructions from a minister and learn of God's promises before you decide to follow a path of no return. Also, maybe you should go to the library and read the life stories of men who resisted picking up a gun just to survive. There are thousands and thousands of men who get up every morning and go to work as dishwashers, garbage collectors, factory workers, window washers, street cleaners, tree trimmers, cement finishers, painters, etc. They face their day with courage and faith to provide for themselves and their families. They do not pick up a gun in anger and use rejection as an excuse for violence and to murder. The love the men have for their families goes beyond the love for themselves, keeping the men going back to work day in and day out. A man can feel miserable inside but love is everlasting and nothing will come before his wife and children. This is why adultery is so dastardly.
If you believe there is a God, then you cannot knowingly pick up a gun and commit an act of violence because your action is saying you are willing to accept God's judgment of your behavior, which is illogical. Also you are saying you are willing to accept man's judgment of your behavior which is also illogical. No man remains resolved into eternity. No man is willing to accept God's judgment unless the man believes that judgment is favorable. How can God's judgment of you be favorable when you violate one of His commandments? Can you truly conceive of a situation where you do not care what happens to your soul? Either there is a God or there is not a God. If you believe there is a God, then you should follow Him. If you do not believe there is a God then fare ye well. But it would behoove you to consider your options carefully. It would be smart of you to error on the side of caution and accept the possibility that there is a God and lay down the gun rather than take a chance and end up in Hell. You are quite right we do not know definitively in this world whether there is a heaven or hell but if you are a betting man it seems it would be wise to gamble on the side of the angels. We know prison is hell. Putting a gun in your hands increases the possibility that you will end up there.
To date there are approximately 2 million men in prison, on probation, on parole, or in jail in the United State. Also there are approximately 3,700 men on death row. If you pick up that gun and use it, then you will be just another man among 2 million men going to prison to spend the rest of their lives. How significant do you think your life will be among 2 million other men? Think about it. How significant do you think the lives of Mr. Jon Siesling, Mr. Robert Foster, Mr. James Castle, Mr. Randall Abbott, Mr. Wayne Kubsch, Mr. Ismael Cisneros, 26, Mr. Oscar A. Grande, 22, Mr. Chivous S. Robinson, 23, and Mr. Paul Bernard are now that they have been convicted of murder. How important is Mr. Ronald Brown now that he has been convicted of murder. June 7, 2005 Ronald Brown, 42, was convicted in the murder of Deva White, age 7. He picked up a gun and fired it. This act changed the destiny of his life. Mr. Brown was found guilty of first-degree murder in the state of Michigan. His conviction was a foregone conclusion he murdered a child and there were witnesses against him. The jury was not going to let him walk away after killing a child. Mr. Brown had no defense. He murdered a child with a gun. His sentence is automatic. He shall spend the rest of his life in prison. Mr. Brown is 42 years old. He has approximately 30 more years to live which means he has approximately 10,950 days left to spend in prison,……..
